Blazing Buttermilk Baked Chicken

You’ll want to have this recipe on hand. You can make this any night of the week – and you’ll want to! It’s the sort of dish you can easily pop in the oven while you relax with a cold beer or glass of wine. And every bite will make your mouth melt… of course, that’s partly the work of the Mad Dog Inferno Hot Sauce.

Ingredients

1 teaspoon Mad Dog Inferno Hot Sauce
1 tablespoon Cumin
1 teaspoon smoked paprika
1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
1/2 teaspoon Garlic powder
Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
8 pieces Chicken
2 tablespoons Butter
1 cup Buttermilk

Preparation

Preheat oven to 400ºF.

In a small bowl, combine the Mad Dog Inferno, cumin, paprika, oregano, garlic powder and onion powder. Add some salt and pepper, to taste. Season the chicken pieces with this spice mixture by rubbing in thoroughly on all sides. Set aside.

Melt butter in a large oven-proof skillet over medium high heat. Add chicken, skin-side down, and sear both sides until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side. Remove from heat and stir in buttermilk.
Place into oven and roast until completely cooked through, about 25-30 minutes. Serve with a salad… or mashed potatoes for a decadent dinner.
