If you find yourself craving the hot stuff you don’t even have to wait until the meantime. One of the hottest things out there right now comes in a tiny glass, but you’d better be up for it. The Prairie Fire tequila shot is certainly hot, and we don’t just mean in terms of its popularity. It seems the Prairie Fire is everywhere these days, but it’s only for the bravest of the brave. That doesn’t, of course, mean that people are necessarily heeding the warning.
This shot couldn’t be simpler to make. All you do is pour a shot of tequila and add in a dose of Tabasco sauce. How much Tabasco you add is up to you, which for some is part of the challenge. Truly, though, a dash or two of spice is probably enough to add in some flavor without going overboard. The basic recipe calls for an ounce of tequila and two dashes of Tabasco sauce. That doesn’t mean that it doesn’t get more extreme. There are several different variations of the drink out there. While some start with Tabasco on the bottom of the glass, other recipes add Tabasco as you pour while yet others simply overpower the glass with hot sauce, mostly reserved for those super hot challenges. That’s why you may see variations on the name, but it’s all generally the same basic drink.
