And if losing a few pounds is a goal for the coming months, it’s time to give your metabolism a kick in the right direction. The cold winter season is a good time to start thinking about eating healthier, even if heartier selections are on the menu. The good news is there are several soup recipes out there that are packed with veggies and spices that are not only good for you, but they’re capable of doing some good things for your metabolism, too.

Sure, there are plenty of soups in a can that require little more than a few minutes in the microwave or on the stovetop to heat up. However, if you’re willing to put in a little time to make your own soup you could be setting yourself up for a healthier 2022. You don’t have to just rely on meals consisting of salad for weight loss. Certain veggie and spice-filled soups can help you speed up your metabolism and burn fat naturally. They taste pretty good, too.

Mexican veggie soup

Mexican veggie soup keeps you healthy with vegetables and black beans. The soup also incorporates things like chipotle chili, cumin, chili powder and diced green chilis for extra flavor.

Orzo soup with turkey meatballs

To add a little extra flavor, try using ground turkey meatballs in creamy orzo soup. The recipe also calls for incorporating things like red pepper flakes, chicken broth, spinach and Italian seasoning.

Vegan lentil veggie soup

If you want to stay vegan, you can always serve up some vegan lentil vegetable soup. This soup is packed full of vegies like kale, green beans, carrots and onions. It also brings in some fire roasted tomatoes, pepper and salt for extra flavor.

Of course, you can always add some hot peppers high on the spice scale to any soup this winter to boost the soup’s flavor, and potentially your metabolism at the same time.
