You’ve probably tried hot sauce with some of the more common foods like buffalo wings or sauces
But there are some other foods that pair surprisingly well with hot sauce. From desserts to breakfast items, there’s really no reason why you can’t take a journey on the hot pepper scale, no matter the time of day.
Pancakes
That begins early in the morning. Some people claim adding a splash of hot sauce to eggs takes the flavor up a notch, but what about pancakes? You don’t have to always grab for that sticky sweet bottle of syrup. Instead of traditional maple syrup, try balancing out the sweetness by drizzling on a mixture of syrup and hot sauce. If you don’t want to mess with the toppings, you can add a bit of hot sauce to the mix itself.
Sandwiches
Come lunchtime, you’re probably ready for another dose of spicy hot flavor. Why grab an ordinary peanut butter and jelly sandwich when you can add in a spicy kick? It only takes a couple of shakes of hot sauce to change an ordinary sandwich into something extraordinary. It all makes sense, especially since nuts pair so well with hot sauce already.
Fruit
If you need a mid-afternoon pick-me-up, you can always drizzle on some hot sauce to fruit. The tropical snack tastes especially good when you pair it with the opposing flavor and heat of hot sauce.
Salad
By the time dinner rolls around, you don’t have to wait for the main course. Plain salad doesn’t have a lot of taste without dressing, but you don’t have to go for a tangy dressing. Instead, replace your favorite dressing with your favorite hot sauce. You can make your own dressing with hot sauce or add it into an existing oil-based dressing.
Popcorn
Sometimes popcorn is the perfect late-night snack, and you can always spice up the salty snack with hot sauce. Try drizzling it over some over some freshly popped popcorn or dipping your popcorn into a spicy dip.
