Feverish Fool’s Day Cake

On the outside, this looks just like a dessert cake. Once you cut into it, however, it looks a lot more like a pizza – which is exactly what it is. Well, it’s a pizza with a wallop of Mad Dog Liquid Fire Hot Sauce for an extra surprise. If you’ve forgotten about April Fool’s, you can still get your revenge in less than an hour. But, there’s a good chance you’ll find an excuse to serve this feverishly foolish cake for 8 all year long.

1 tablespoon Mad Dog Liquid Fire Hot Sauce
1 jar (14 oz) Pizza sauce
8 ounces Italian sausage, cooked and crumbled
8 ounces Pepperoni, sliced
3 cups Biscuit baking mix
¾ cup Milk
2 each Eggs
2 tablespoons butter, melted
1 teaspoon Garlic salt
5 or 6 slices Mozzarella cheese

Combine the Mad Dog Liquid Fire Hot Sauce with the pizza sauce and meats in a mixing bowl. Set aside.

In a second bowl, mix the remaining ingredients, except for the cheese. Spread half of this mixture on the bottom and sides of a greased 10″ fluted tube pan. Scoop the Mad Dog mixture evenly through the ring, avoiding the sides if possible. Spoon over the remaining batter.

Bake at 375°F for about 35 or 40 minutes or until lightly browned, or a toothpick comes out clean. Turn out onto a baking sheet and arrange cheese over cake. Return the cake (on the baking sheet) to the oven and cook for about 5 minutes, or until cheese is melty.
