Feverish Fool’s Day Cake

maddog357.com

On the outside, this looks just like a dessert cake.

Once you cut into it, however, it looks a lot more like a pizza – which is exactly what it is. Well, it’s a pizza with a wallop of Mad Dog Pure Ghost Hot Sauce for an extra surprise. If you’ve forgotten about April Fool’s, you can still get your revenge in less than an hour.

There’s a good chance you’ll find an excuse to serve this feverishly foolish cake for 8 all year long.

Ingredients

1 tablespoon Mad Dog Pure Ghost Hot Sauce
1 jar (14 oz.) Pizza sauce
8 ounces Italian sausage, cooked and crumbled
8 ounces Pepperoni, sliced
3 cups Biscuit baking mix
¾ cup Milk
2 each Eggs
2 tablespoons butter, melted
1 teaspoon Garlic salt
5 or 6 slices Mozzarella cheese

Preparation

Combine the Mad Dog Pure Ghost Hot Sauce with the pizza sauce and meats in a mixing bowl. Set aside.

In a second bowl, mix the remaining ingredients, except for the cheese. Spread half of this mixture on the bottom and sides of a greased 10″ fluted tube pan. Scoop the Mad Dog mixture evenly through the ring, avoiding the sides if possible. Spoon over the remaining batter.

Bake at 375°F for about 35 or 40 minutes or until lightly browned, or a toothpick comes out clean. Turn out onto a baking sheet and arrange cheese over cake. Return the cake (on the baking sheet) to the oven and cook for about 5 minutes, or until cheese is melty.
