If you had known it was this simple, you would have been doing it all the time, right?
Now you know how freaking easy, delicious, and super amazingly fiery a cheese sauce can really be, so what are you going to do about it?
If the answer is: make it right now, then you’re on the right track.
For the cheese sauce
1 c milk
4 tsp all-purpose flour
1-2 tbs Mad Dog 357 Habanero pepper puree
¼ tsp each: salt, black pepper
½ c shredded cheddar cheese
For the burgers
4 cooked hamburger patties
4 hamburger buns
freshly chopped red bell peppers and onions
Combine the milk and flour in a saucepan and whisk to combine. Bring to a boil over medium heat, whisking frequently. Drop the heat to low, stir in the Mad Dog 357 Habanero pepper puree along with the salt and pepper, and simmer for a few minutes until thickened. Remove from the heat, add the cheese and stir until the cheese has melted and the sauce is well combined.
Assemble your burgers by placing cooked patties on the bottom buns. Divide the sauce between them and sprinkle over the bell peppers and onions. Replace the bun tops and serve hot.
