British Outcry Selling Reapers
In the States, it’s completely obvious that chili peppers are growing in popularity. They’re everywhere in one form or another. They’re in spicy sandwiches and cropping up as sauce offerings on the side. Hotter wings are on the menu. Even Wendy’s is offering hot as hell fries. Like we said – obvious.
We’re not the only country adopting the hot food trend. Across the Atlantic, British restaurants are picking up on the trend. They’re even making it easier to indulge at home.
Snacks Changing Perceptions of Spicy Foods
You’ve seen a lot of hotter food entering the market and the menus of your favorite restaurants. That’s hardly a secret. But, have you taken any time to look at the growing trend of snack foods that incorporate sweet and spicy flavors?
There are a lot of options. Doritos, for example, have a Spicy Sweet Chili flavor, and you’ll find plenty of mango salsas mixed with hot peppers for dipping. Take a look at the beef jerky aisle next time you’re at the grocery store; you’ll find a similar trend beginning to develop.
National Chicken Wings Day
As much as you would like to imagine tiny buffalo flying about, donating their wings so we can have tasty treats at the bar – that doesn’t happen. Buffalos don’t have wings, and as far as scientists understand it, they never did. You’re more likely to find fairy dust from Neverland.
What we commonly refer to as buffalo wings are, in fact, chicken wings. And, they’re not from baby chickens either. Chicken wings are jointed, and it’s possible to get both the little drumstick and the little wing pieces from a single wing.
Flavorful Food Swaps
It’s really difficult to make healthy eating choices in the summer. Actually, it’s really difficult at any time. In winter, there is a stream of holidays while the summer offers plenty of impromptu (ah, go ahead and spoil yourself, right?) gatherings and lots of late nights.
You may find that a few of these food swaps are easier during summer. And, if you start now, you can bet they’ll fit readily into your routine by winter. (Bonus!)
