Chili Pepper News — hot sauce

Not everyone likes chili peppers and hot sauces. And, even though we don’t fully understand them, it’s a lot easier to explain why someone wouldn’t like the burn of capsaicin than it is to summarize why you enjoy chilies.After all, why would you put yourself through that pain? If animals don’t willingly indulge in capsaicin binges, why would you? (Incidentally, this argument does tend to work often: animals don’t smoke, animals sleep when they need to, and such. We’re sort of in love with chili peppers and hot sauces. You are too. We know because you’re reading this, and there must be a reason for that. But, we can’t help but ask ourselves what the fascination with hot sauce and chili peppers really is. After all, it seems that you can’t step into an establishment that has anything to do with food without falling over capsaicin.

As more people live life to the hottest, we see more sides to the chili head community. Most heat seekers are gorgeous – inside and out. But there are some weirdos out there. (Yeah, we have to admit it.)

Remember when you first added a drop of Tabasco to your food, and you were floored by the flavor and burn it added to your meal? Those days are long gone now, aren’t they? Adding Tabasco to your food is now something you do because you accidentally pulled into a restaurant that doesn’t fully comprehend what hot is. These days, you’re all about gourmet hot sauce – it’s hotter and has infinitely more flavor than you can explain. (We understand that.) But, believe it or not, there is more to gourmet hot sauce than you might think.
