Spicy Herb Butter for Superb Steaks


You can transform a simple steak into a superb meal when you add a dash of Mad Dog and herbs to the mix.

Truly. If you’re hosting a winter’s dinner party, this is how you want to do it. The butter is easy enough to make, and it can be done in advance.

Serve with sides of incredible veg and expect plenty of compliments.

Ingredients for the Spicy Herb Butter

1 cup (2 sticks) butter, room temperature
1 teaspoon Mad Dog 357 Scorpion Pepper Hot Sauce
2 tablespoons fresh herbs (such as rosemary or thyme), chopped
1 teaspoon Coarse salt


Mix all the ingredients for the butter in a bowl. Place the butter on a sheet of parchment paper and roll back and forth to form a log. Wrap the butter log (still in parchment paper) in plastic wrap and place in the fridge for at least an hour to allow it to the firm.

Slice circles of the butter over hot steaks just before serving. You may also want to put extra slices of the butter on the table – it’s addictive.
