Scorpion Pizza Roll Ups

Need some junk food? Want it to have some heat?

You know, like the real kind – Mad Dog burning hot heat? Of course, you do and we absolutely love, love love these fried pizza roll-ups filled with Mad Dog 357 Scorpion Hot Sauce.

It would be impossible for anyone not to fall in love with this recipe. As far as fried junk foods go, it’s relatively easy to prepare 20 pizza rolls ups. And, they’re filled with heat, cheese, chorizo, and pizza sauce.

1 teaspoon Mad Dog 357 Scorpion Hot Sauce
1 pound Chorizo, pre-cooked, cut into small cubes
½ pound Mozzarella cheese, grated
1 cup prepared pizza sauce
2 each Green peppers, diced
2 packs (20 each) Egg roll wrappers
Water, for sealing the egg roll wrappers
Oil, for frying


In a large bowl, combine the Mad Dog 357 Scorpion Hot Sauce with the chorizo, cheese, pizza sauce, and green peppers. Stir to combine all the ingredients and set aside.

Separate the sheets of egg roll wrappers (if needed), but keep under a clean, damp kitchen towel to prevent the sheets from drying out. Place a little bit of water in a small bowl.

To prepare a single pizza roll up, dip one corner of a single egg roll wrapper in the water and place it on a clean surface. Scoop about ¼ cup of the Scorpion pizza mix onto the middle of the opened egg roll wrapper and wrap, like a burrito, towards the dampened corner and press to seal the roll closed. Dip the corner of a second egg roll wrapper sheet in the water and roll the existing pizza roll in this sheet (again, like a burrito) and seal with the water tip. Set aside.

Repeat this process until the Scorpion pizza mix is finished.

Heat a few inches of oil in a large, wide skillet over medium-high heat – until a bread cube takes about a minute to brown. Place a few egg rolls in the hot oil and cook until the bottom halves begin to brown, flip, and continue cooking until each roll is crispy and brown.
