Tired of dieting? Use hot sauce to curb the junk food cravings

Let’s face it, no one likes to be on a diet. It’s hard to believe anyone would rather nibble on a carrot than dive into a bag of chips or down a tub of ice cream.

But instead of just giving up your favorite junk food cold turkey, what if you could curb the junk food cravings by adding something TO your diet. Sounds too easy to be true, doesn’t it. Actually, it’s extremely easy.

You don’t even have to cut all the greasy, fried stuff out of your diet, either.

All you have to do is grab a bottle of your favorite hot sauce. We’re not kidding. It’s not that hot sauce is a magic weight loss food, but it does seem to work in kind of mysterious ways. Here’s the real deal- when you eat capsaicin, it tricks your mind into thinking you’re full. Capsaicin, of course, is what makes peppers taste so hot. When we feel like we’re starving, or even just bored for that matter, we often turn to junk food. If you eat something extremely hot and your brain thinks you’re full, you’re less likely to overeat.

Instead of craving junk food you end up craving hot sauce. It works by keeping the hunger pains away, allowing you to focus on planning your next meal and not your next mid-day snack. You can also try spicing up things like bland veggies that don’t typically offer a lot of taste, but you know they’re actually good for you. It’s kind of like trying to get your kids to try new things by disguising the “good for you food” with something that actually tastes good. Give it a try. It surely can’t hurt to cut down on the junk food. Don’t think of what you’re giving up, but rather what you’re gaining in terms of flavor, especially when you climb up the pepper scale.
